About Melbourne
Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria and is Australia’s second largest city, with over four million residents. Melbourne is projected to grow beyond five million by 2030 and has been consistently rated as one of the three most liveable cities in the world by The Economist magazine’s Intelligence Unit. You can see more about Melbourne’s attractions here
The Congress will also occur during the final series of the 2012 Australian Football League. Australian Rules football is Australia’s unique indigenous sport and Melbourne is the heart of football in Australia. Final series matches regularly have attendances of 100,000 people at one of the world’s greatest sporting venues, the MCG, which is located in Melbourne’s unique sporting precinct. The Congress will offer a tour of this precinct.
